Help is at hand. Below are frequently asked questions.

How do I get a prescription?

Legally all veterinarians must provide a prescription.

They may use their own prescription form or you may provide them with one of ours that is offered to you simply by downloading the Vetmedsplus Prescription form. Printing off a prescription form from us is free and may save your veterinarian time. Your vet just needs to fill in the relevant sections before you send it back to us either by fax to 0845 603 1330 or post to Vetmedsplus, PO Box 4725, Henley-on-Thames, Oxfordshire, RG9 9BE . We guarantee to dispatch all medicines within 2 working days of receiving your prescription*.

Do I need a prescription for every order?

You can ask your vet to write a repeat prescription, which allows you reorder the required medicine without continually visiting your vet. Your vet is legally required to see your pet/animal within a reasonable period prior to writing a prescription and may therefore ask you to revisit every 3-6 months prior to writing a prescription for you.

Can my vet refuse to write a prescription?

No, your vet is not legally allowed to refuse writing a prescription for a medicine they would otherwise be dispensing to you.

Are these the same drugs I get from my vet and why are they so much cheaper?

Yes, these are the same drugs that all UK veterinarians are legally required to sell to animals in the UK. All our medicines are supplied by reputable UK wholesalers. Operating as an online dispensary, Vetmedsplus does not have the same expensive overhead costs as your local
